For our September Associates session, Dr Amanda Crawley Jackson will look at ways that artists can work with universities.
Dr Amanda Crawley Jackson is a Senior Lecturer in French and Francophone Studies at the University of Sheffield and Faculty Director of Impact and Knowledge Exchange (Arts and Humanities). In this role and as a freelance curator, she has fifteen years’ experience of working with artists on collaborative and commissioned projects. Curatorial projects include the recent Graves Gallery exhibition Invisible Wounds, which examines the idea of the post-traumatic landscape, and Occursus, a cross-disciplinary research programme which was based at Site Gallery. She is currently working on a digital exhibition project called What Must We Dream Of?
In this talk, Dr Jackson will look at the ways in which artists can work with universities, the funding opportunities available for collaborations with the higher education sector, and who it’s useful to contact within universities if you’re interested in developing a project with them. She will also speak about the current Knowledge Exchange and Impact landscape, explaining why it’s important for universities to work collaboratively and with communities.
