We are delighted to share, Marya Lina Akbar has been appointed to the role of Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces and Operations Coordinator.
Along with our Trustees, we are excited to welcome Marya to the team and know she will receive a warm welcome from our many artists working in the gallery’s New Art Spaces.
Alisha Kadri, Castlefield Gallery Trustee and key decision maker for the appointment said: Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces and our main galleries play such an important part in the support our charity provides for hundreds of artists and creatives in the North West of England and beyond. We are thrilled to have Marya join the Castlefield Gallery team. Marya is an effective and engaging communicator, key qualities for the role. Her enthusiasm and experience, including teaching and time spent studying Architecture at the University of Salford, mean she is extremely well placed to bring new perspectives to the role and Castlefield Gallery’s plans for the future.
Whilst with the gallery Nicholas James has taken Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces from strength to strength. For over a decade Nicholas has supported hundreds of artists, independent curators, writers and more, to access space in which to develop their practice and careers, connect, and reach new audiences. His work has also helped foster meaningful local relationships with, and between, many creative communities, artists and key stakeholders in locations across Greater Manchester and the North West.
Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces are accessed by ranging creatives across the region, and especially Castlefield Gallery Associates.
