Volunteer Spotlight: Nicole Isaacson
Posted on 9 April 2025
This month we have asked Volunteer Photographer Nicole Isaacson to contribute to our Volunteer Spotlight series where we are asking volunteers to share their experience with us.
Hi Nicole! Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been volunteering with Castlefield Gallery?
Hi! My name is Nicole Isaacson and I am a second year university student currently studying Photography at Manchester Metropolitan University. My work specialises in Fine art and Editorial photography, exploring the emotional resonance of colour and its deep connection to the human experience. I seek to explore how subtle shifts in colour and form can alter the emotional landscape of ordinary moments, inviting viewers to engage with the world in a more imaginative and reflective way.
What made you want to volunteer here?
I have been volunteering at Castlefield Gallery since November 2024, photographing events they regularly put on such as artist critiques and educational talks.
What is your favourite thing about volunteering at Castlefield Gallery?
The main aspect that drew me to volunteer at this gallery was its ability to bring a diverse range of artists together and find common ground. Castlefield gallery is not just a community but a family for artists to express their opinions and make connections that will last a lifetime.
What would you say to someone who is thinking of volunteering with Castlefield Gallery?
I would say don’t hesitate! It’s an incredible and flexible opportunity that has helped not only my personal practice but also making new connections. I have met people such as sculptors and painters that I would never have before, highlighting the amazing community Castlefield Gallery have established.
Thank you Nicole and all our fabulous volunteers for your amazing work!
