NEW ART SPACES DIDSBURY: MEET THE ARTIST – DARREN NIXON Thursday 26 September 2013, 11:45am-2pm
Posted on 23 September 2013
Castlefield Gallery presents a unique opportunity to meet artist Darren Nixon to view and discuss his work currently being exhibited at Scotscroft, The Towers Business Park, East Didsbury as part of New Art Spaces.
Working with the support of Property Alliance Group, Castlefield Gallery has taken on two large temporarily unoccupied office spaces – Scotscroft and Ocean House – to provide ‘pop-up’ exhibition venues for creative practitioners.
Showcasing work by artists from the CG Associates membership scheme, Scotscroft features the paintings of Darren Nixon, accompanied by series of works by Anne Parkinson and Jude Macpherson exhibited in Ocean House.
This event takes place prior to Darren Nixon’s work being exhibited the same weekend at The Manchester Contemporary 2013. Once again CG will be showcasing some of the most promising emerging artists who are currently unrepresented. For this year CG has selected four artists from its CG Associates scheme. Alongside Darren Nixon, this includes Nicola Ellis, Jane Lawson, and Hannah Leighton-Boyce.
Address: Scotscroft, The Towers Business Park, Wilmslow Road, Manchester M20 2LY
Opening Times: 11:45am-2pm
