Manchester’s Castlefield Gallery, which this year is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary, is excited to announce details of their Artists’ Development Partnership with Cornerhouse/HOME and Manchester Art Gallery. The 4 year partnership will see the three organisations collaborating to increase the ambition and potential of artists’ in Greater Manchester.
The aim of the Artists’ Development Partnership is to introduce Greater Manchester’s emerging and mid-career artists to the internationally renowned contemporary artists who are visiting the city to work with Cornerhouse and Manchester Art Gallery.
The three organisations have a shared ambition and hope that that artists and curators visiting from other locations will subsequently include Manchester based artists in their national and international networks, and by association, develop projects together. Castlefield Gallery, Cornerhouse, and Manchester Art Gallery hope that by using their collective expertise and networks, the right conditions can be provided for this to happen.
The scheme will be piloted over the next year and developed further for three years after. It will see a group of Greater Manchester artists being matched to incoming contemporary artists or curators working with Cornerhouse/HOME and Manchester Art Gallery, providing artists and/or curators access to established artists and potential new networks through bespoke networking events and networks.
