Join us to celebrate the opening of our exhibition Launch Pad: Manchester School of Art, Graduates 2015 on Thursday 11 February from 6-8pm with the opening speech at 6:30pm by Penny Macbeth, Head of Art and Associate Dean, Manchester School of Art.
Co-selected by CG’s Director Kwong Lee and Manchester School of Art, Head of Art and Associate Dean Penny Macbeth, from the 2015 degree shows, Castlefield Gallery (CG) is delighted to present new work by Nina Bristow, Tom Lambe, and Aimee Walker, three graduates from the Manchester School of Art.
Castlefield Gallery’s vision is for the North to be where artists can develop work of international standing with its mission being to nurture talent here in the NW. Launch Pad: Manchester School of Art, Graduates 2015 is the third in a series of annual exhibitions showcasing the most promising artists coming out of the Manchester School of Art.
Bristow, Lambe and Walker’s art practices demonstrate the breadth and depth of engagement with contemporary visual art, their work incorporates cultural criticism, performance, the manipulation of various technologies and site-specific research.
Castlefield Gallery is renowned for the groundbreaking work it does in supporting early career artists. Launch Pad: Manchester School of Art, Graduates 2015 is an exceptional opportunity for three of our graduates to produce new work in the supportive environment that Castlefield Gallery provides. This is the final exhibition of a series of three: devised to support young artists from the Manchester School of Art. Nina Bristow, Tom Lambe and Aimee Walker will benefit from the focused, in-depth mentoring provided by the Castlefield Gallery team along side the opportunity to develop new work in response to an exhibition commission.
