Castlefield Gallery at art:gwangju:12
Posted on 23 August 2012
Castlefield Gallery has been invited to take part in art:gwangju in South Korea. In its third edition, art:gwangju:12 will coincide with the much anticipated Gwangju Biennale and will include a full VIP itinerary and services, talks programme, guest collections and the unique sales platforms of Museum Outlet and Art 4 Company alongside Gallery which will feature highlights including New Arrivals, Videolet and part two of the curated exhibition Double Democracy.
Castlefield Gallery will present work by a number of contemporary artists from the North West of England, many of whom are unrepresented by commercial galleries but have already been part of nationally significant projects. Selected for their relevance to contemporary art practice, these artists make work that pushes at the boundaries of art. They include Hilary Jack and Ultimate Holding Company UHC who were both commissioned for the Tatton Park Biennial 2012, Leo Fitzmaurice who won the Northern Art Prize 2011, Andrew Bracey whose practice explores the intersection of painting with installation, sculpture, drawing and animation and recent graduate Rafal Topolewski who has been chosen as one of the four finalists for the Saatchi Gallery’s New Sensations award.
Castlefield Gallery’s participation is supported by ICF (International Curators Forum).
