Castlefield Gallery Curator & Deputy Director Matthew Pendergast will lead the March Associates monthly event. The session will explore the ‘art’ of writing about your practice, in particular finding ways to make the process joyful and work for you.
Does writing and talking about your practice often feel like a chore and something you have to do for funding applications or secure opportunities? Matthew strongly believes this does not have to be the case, that it is possible to harness the process of writing and talking about your work as a useful tool for developing a conversation around your practice with others and most vitally yourself!
The session will focus on helpful practices and tips for producing clear, quality writing about your work for a range of purposes and platforms. It will investigate how writing about, and creating dialogue around your practice can be an enlightening and effective method to investigate, challenge and develop the work itself.
The session will include a section for Q&A and be recorded. After the session slides and a recording of the session will be posted to the Castlefield Gallery Associates area on the gallery’s website.
