After launching at Castlefield Gallery (18 May – 1 July 2018) the exhibition, Oh, it is easy to be clever if one does not know all these questions continues at DOX Centre for Contemporary Arts in Prague to Monday 10 September 2018.

Curated in collaboration with guest curators Pavel Büchler (Manchester, UK) and Mariana Serranová (Prague, CZ), the exhibition in two parallel parts, brings together a number of early career artists from the two cities. The aim is to initiate a dialogue among practices that are developing within an emerging generation in two distinct cultural environments and artistic traditions. Artists include; David Fesl, Martin Kohout, Lucie Michnová, Vojtěch Novák / Andrew Jan Hauner, Pavel Příkaský / Miroslava Večeřová, with UK artists including Nina Chua, Nicola Ellis, Maeve Rendle, Evangelia Spiliopoulou.

Opened in 2008 DOX is a multifunctional space in a huge former factory building in one of Prague’s most exciting districts. It exhibits current international and Czech artists as well as presenting accompanying public programme, public events, film screenings, interactive workshops.

Thanks to support from Commissioning Patron, Chris Klingeneberg, Castlefield Gallery was able to facilitate artist Nichola Ellis spending time in Prague developing a brand new and large-scale commission whilst on site at DOX.

In early June Commissioning Patron, Chris Klingeneberg travelled to Prague to see the exhibition where he met with Leoš Válka, Founder and Director of the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art.
