Writer in Residence: Iris Priest

Selected from an open call, early-career writer, Iris Priest is spending 10-days based at Castlefield Gallery whilst producing writing that responds to Andrew McDonald’s solo exhibition. The residency and mentoring programme has been developed as a partnership between Castlefield Gallery, The International 3 and Corridor8 with support from Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts.
Iris Priest is an artist, writer and former co-founder of the arts magazine CANNED. She has written extensively on issues of collaboration, consciousness and the interdisciplinary zone of human creativity. irisapriest.co.uk
Visitors can chat to Iris in the gallery between 17-21 May and 7-11 June. There will also be a series of events coinciding with the residency including a writing workshop, and on Sunday 11 June there will be in-conversation with Andrew McDonald and Dr Michael Birchall .
Writing created during the residency will be published alongside other commissioned essays as part of a new Corridor8 publication later in the year.
